Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy

Nguyen Thu Thuy- a visual artist and designer based in Hanoi (born 1971) and General Director of New Hanoi Arts Co.,Ltd. She is a founder and lead designer of Hanoi Ceramic Mosaic Mural project, which won the Guinness World Records certificate for the largest ceramic mosaic in the world. Thu Thuy give birth the ideas and develop several public arts projects in Hanoi and other cities of Vietnam. In June 2017, Thu Thuy won the Bronze at the 10th International Design Awards (IDA) for the mural of Vietnam trees and flowers at Da Nang International airport and in April 2018 Thu Thuy won a Silver A’Design Award for her brand new Hanoi Ceramic Mosaic Mirror House in Hanoi downtown. Hanoi Mirror House Public Artwork by Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy Upon entering the Mirror House in Hanoi’s Reunion Park, visitors are swept into the depths of the ocean as they explore the wonders and beauty of the sea. Brilliant colored ceramic mosaic murals feature snails, starfish, sea anemones and a wide array of tropical fish. Mirrors add a sense of magic and intrigue. This experience was captured by painter Nguyen Thu Thuy and her colleagues in a 3D artistic expression. Being able to develop a deep appreciation for public art is rare in Vietnam, but Thu Thuy is breaking the barriers.

Wave Mural Public Artwork by Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy The exterior wall of the Mirror House in Hanoi’s Reunion Park was decorated with ceramic mosaic murals of Truong Sa waves. Thu Thuy’s idea aimed to promote the beauty and power of the Vietnamese seascape. As a visitor approaches the Mirror House, there is a sense of mist from the ocean as this entire wall of the building is covered with shimmering waves created entirely by 300,000 ceramic mosaic tiles, giving the installation a feeling of unity and wholeness.

Hanoi Mirror House Public Artwork by Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy Recently, the Mirror House is changed to a fascinate ceramic mosaic tiles seascape in Hanoi’s Reunion Park . Tremendous sea murals is capturing the World famous Ha Long Bay and Truong Sa waves cover the entire exterior of the house. The interior takes the visitor on a magical undersea journey showcasing sea life using 3D mosaic murals with more than 50 mirrors adding delight for everybody. The snail shape of the house provides a unique setting for exploring the magic and beauty of sea.

Twin Lotus Murals by Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy Upon arrival at the Noi Bai international airport visitors are welcomed by twin murals depicting lotus ponds in full bloom. The lotus, the national flower of Vietnam, was selected as the focus for 2 impressive 720 sq. meter outdoor murals painted on the facade of the T2 terminal. For over 2 months, lead designer Thu Thuy and New Hanoi Arts company worked creating these 15 meter high murals which were unveiled in January 2019. The blooming lotus reflecting in the pool and in the terminal’s glass windows, creates a sense of endless beauty and peace, a surrealism first impression of Hanoi.

Lead designer Nguyen Thu Thuy accepted the challenge to create a ceramic mosaic mural that spans the history of this 1000 year old city, giving international travelers their first impression of Hanoi. The mural portrays Hanoi Past and Present featuring well-known architectural landmarks plus the natural beauty of the city. Created with over 250,000 mosaic tiles this expansive mural measure 26m wide and 3.4m high.

Doji Tower Gold and Gem Trading Centre by Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy With distinctive architecture which combines classical and modern styles harmoniously, Doji tower stands and shines like an exquisite giant diamond in Hanoi downtown. Doji tower has been recognized as the national record for being the largest diamond-shaped building in Vietnam which employs the most gold and gems for its decoration. The high quality and durable materials, ranging from 6-level marble base to 10-level diamond shape block with excellent glass.

New Hanoi Arts House Public Artwork by Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy The New Hanoi Arts House reflects the murals, paintings and images of public artworks designed by Thu Thuy since 2006. Murals featuring flora and fauna are on the first two floors. Photography highlighting Thu Thuy’s past public artworks line the stairwell. A mirror room on the fifth floor, designed by Thu Thuy and Mike Savad combine graphic imagery with an iconic symbol of Vietnam. Even the outdoor balcony serves as a flower garden. Entrance is free of charge.
